It will never happen. They changed that song to make it better. Whether you agree its better or not is another story, but why would they go backwards?
I saw the show in SF last Friday, the acoustic songs were awesome! I really like the acoustic version of cold feelings.
One song I wish is on the new album is the original version (welfare mother) of angels wings. I loved that version - it would be a great bonus song on the new album.
PS: Cant take it with you is a good song as well. Alone and Foresaken was speeded up from the b-side version.

I personally think he fucked up by changing the lyrics to that song and footprints, but I always have the bootlegs...
I just want to *hear Bakersfield. Please lord let Social D record Bakersfield.

I wouldn't think of it as going backwards. I think a lot of people liked the welfare mother version of the song. I liked it because it was more like a story, Ness said he changed it to make it more universal so it would speak to everyone as individuals.
A lot of artists release different versions of the same song. I wish they would do it for this one...
Plus I would like a professional version rather than a bootleg... or should I say in addition to the bootleg...
i'd like to hear "diamond in the rough" on the next album. they haven't played that in about 3 years.
There were some songs that they did WAY back in the day before MLM that were never recorded.
I wish I could remember some of those.
I'd like to hear them again.
Don't count on that one Reno - the band is light years away from those days as well as a different band and for the better!
<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">It doesn't seem that long but your probably right. Think of how long the've been fuckin' around with road zombie, I couldnt believe it wasn't on SL&RR. You never know how far back Mike is going to reach and you never know what he is going to leave on the table.i'd like to hear "diamond in the rough" on the next album. they haven't played that in about 3 years.
As far as Angel Wings in its original version as a bonus track.........you are barking at the moon. Re-recorded bonus tracks do not involve tracks released on the last studio album. It's like saying you fucked up.
i might have said this in a previous post, but i talked with J2B a few weeks back after a show, and he said that they are working on some stuff "from several years ago" and re-working them. so i wouldn't be surprised if a song surfaces utilizing lyrics from the "lost tracks" time frame. diamond in the rough and that's alright have lyrics/ phrases that have been used in other songs.
realistically, geekgirl probably has the best info on this topic. if you're reading this thread, care to fill us in?
